Hunter Valley

Há alguns semanas fui até uma região vinhateira a 2 horas norte de Sydney. Foi um passeio bem divertido e interessante de ver como funciona a indústria do vinho por aqui. Durante todo o dia andamos a provar vinhos e no final tivemos direito a provar queijos e gelados. Sendo eu Português foi-me oferecido provar o "vinho do Porto" local o que tenho a dizer não tem nada a ver como o nosso ex libris... O vinho Português está uma furos bem acima em comparação com o Australiano :)...

Durante a viagem tive finalmente oportunidade de ver cangurus :P... São animais bem simpáticos e bonitos...

A couple weeks a go i went to a wine region 2 hours north of Sydney. It was a nice and fun day trip, as we could see how the wine industry works around here. All day we've tried wine and in the end we could try cheeses and ice-cream. As I'm Portuguese it was offered to try the so called "Port wine" for around here and i have to say that its nothing compared to Porto's ex libris. Portuguese wine its so much better than the Australian one :)...

During the day i could see Kangaroos for the first time :P... They are magnificent animals and they look very nice...

AFL

AFL (Australian Football League) é um espécie de rugby à maneira australiana já que é um desporto extremamente movimentado. Eu não percebi muito bem as regras mas é mais ou menos como o rugby só que com bem menos paragens. Se quiserem saber mais aqui fica o link para o site oficial.

AFL (Australian Football League) its a type of rugby played the Australian way, as it is a very moved sports where all players are running around the pitch all the time. I didn't got the rules perfectly, but has i'm not into this kind of sports anyway, how cares :)... Here is the link if you would like to know more...

Depois de algum bom tempo de ausência aqui volto com algumas boas notícias e fotos :)... Já se passaram 2 meses desde que cheguei e estou a gostar muito da experiência já que tem sido bastante enriquecedora. Bem mais em termos académicos do que sociais pois é ai que tenho centrado a maior parte da minha atenção. O trabalho para a universidade chega para me deixar sem tempo para muitas outras actividades, mas já está a ficar melhor e a parte social vai aumentar :).

Notícia boa: a minha foto que foi a concurso nos PALM Awards ganhou a segundo prémio o que equivale a 500 dólares Australianos o que não é nada mau para a primeira vez numa competição :)

Tive o agradável prazer de ter a visita dos meus tios Céu e Gil. Mesmo que só de passagem por Sydney na sua viagem pela Austrália, foi bom tê-los por aqui. Espero que eles se tenham divertido bastante por este continente encantador...

After sometime of absence here I am again with good new and pictures... Two months i've passed already since my arrival and i have to judge my experience as being a very good and enriching one. More focused on the academic side then social cause thats where i've focusing most of my attention as the work for university leave me few time to social activities. Anyway the work load is dropping so i'll be more social from now on :).

Good news: the picture i have on the exhibition on the PALM Awards won the second prize and by that i got 500 Australian dollars which is awesome for a first timer in a competition :)...

I had the great pleasure to have had the visit of my uncles, Céu and Gil. They were only passing by as they were traveling throw Australia but it was great to have them around... I hope that they had an amazing time here.

Today i got the news that one of my pictures is going to be presented in a exhibition in the University gallery (Verge Gallery) and is in for the competition :)... Coogee to Bondi

Domingo foi dia de passeio à beira mar... Finalmente fui conhecer as belas praias que Sydney tem para oferecer, e são bem bonitas :)... Um passeio entre Coogee e Bondi, 2 horas de caminho a pé, passando por outras pequenas praias (Bronte e Tamarama). O dia estava lindo como sempre por estas paragens, juntando a companhia de 2 amigas levou a um passeio bem agradável. Em Bondi juntamos-nos a outro grupo de gente para relaxar :)...

Sunday of walk by the beach day... Finally i went to the fine beaches of Sydney and i can tell you they are really pretty :)... A walk from Coogee to Bondi, 2 hours walk, passing by other smaller beaches on the way (Bronte and Tamarama). The day was beautiful as always around here, the company of 2 girlfriends and the walk was great. In Bondi we chilled together with another group of friends can catch some sun :)...

Sydney Opera House

Este sábado à noite fui até à famosa Sydney Opera House, e tenho vos a dizer que é fabulosa, seja pela acústica, design, elegância ou mesmo pela diferença de estilo para qualquer outro sítio famoso onde se podem assistir eventos de nível superior...

O concerto foi de música clássica, nomeadamente Haydn e Bruckner, conduzido pelo maestro Yannick Nézet Séguin. Foi muito bom o concerto e a energia do maestro é impressionante :)... No essencial adorei o espectáculo mas o que mais me fascinou foi a acústica da sala, já que é simplesmente brilhante pois consegue-se ouvir o menor ruído...

Last saturday i went to the Sydney Opera House and i can tell you that its awesome, for its acoustics, design, elegance or for the different style compared to other world known places for top events of this kind.

It was a classical concert, with music from Haydn and Bruckner, conducted by the maestro Yannick Nézet Séguin. I can say it was just a great concert and the energy of the maestro its enormous :)... In sum, i loved the concert but what really amazed my the most was the acoustics of the place. You can ear the tiniest noise...

Churrasco - BBQ

Este passado sábado organizamos um belo churrasco aqui em casa para celebrar a bem-vinda dos novos hospedes à casa bem como celebrar o aniversário da Raphaële(21), já ninguém tem 21 aninhos :)... Deixo-vos algumas imagens...
